Sprint season begins with Thames wins Spring racing season is officially underway, with Thames producing some early results.
At Hammersmith Regatta on April 25th, the novice women won both the Novice 8s and Novice Coxed 4s races, with 10 of them winning their novice pots!
Thames also had a strong showing at Wallingford Regatta this past weekend. With a large number of entries in both sculling and sweep categories, the captain and coaches got a good workout by cycling along the course throughout the day.
Thankfully the wind remained a tailwind for the day's racing but was quite strong at times, creating waves on the course.
Thames handled the conditions well and wins came from both squads, with the men's Elite Coxless Pair winning their division and the women's Intermediate 2 Coxed Four taking the title in their final!
Next weekend Thames will be racing at Poplar Regatta on the 10th of May. |
